Parrot Problem Solving 101

Be observant ...

You know it's instinct for your parrot to hide his/her illness. This is so the flock doesn't excommunicate them in the wild. Why? Because a sick animal is a sign for predators to come and get an easy meal. The flock doesn't want to attract predators so they will abandon or drive off a sick member to protect the others. 

 

Your bird doesn't realize that isn't the case with you so they will still hide their illness. By the time you recognize it, she could have been sick a long time. Watch and observe your bird's behavior. Know when she is not acting like herself and make sure that you call your vet at the first sign of illness.
